About Anne

Black silhouette of a person riding a bicycle with a hat, in front of a bright sun, on a beach with palm trees.

I’m a Daughter of the American Revolution, an experienced immigration lawyer licensed in 3 states, a mom of two beautiful children in our public schools, and I’m proud to call Kansas home.

I was at the town hall in Oakley where Roger Marshall proved he was not fit to serve the people of Kansas, and it was there that I first decided to run for office because Kansans deserve a public servant who won’t run away.

Over a year later, I have met Kansans everywhere from every walk of life: good, smart, honest, and hardworking People who all want the same things, no matter where they live – a better world for their children and grandchildren.  We are all facing the same challenges, the same struggles, created by the same self-serving sycophants who have run this country for too long.

Together, We have created a movement of, by, and for the People, and together, We the People will Restore the Promise of America, give this government back to the People, and make life livable for the common man, again.

All of us, Together.  United We Stand.

Anne Parelkar was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and raised in nearby White Hall. Growing up, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff, and loved spending time outdoors on her family’s land in rural Arkansas. She graduated from White Hall High School in 2001, then attended Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas, where she graduated with a BA in history, a political science minor, and a secondary education concentration. Anne attended law school at the William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Before graduating with her law degree, she spent time as a secondary school teacher, educating students about their Constitutional rights.

In 2011, Anne passed the Arkansas Bar Exam. She first moved to Kansas shortly thereafter when she married her husband, Nikhil. The two lived in the Kansas City area while Nikhil worked in medical research, and Anne passed the Missouri and Kansas Bar Exams. The Parelkars have two children and have lived in Overland Park since 2017.

As an attorney, Anne specializes in immigration law, a field very personal to her as the wife of a naturalized citizen from Mumbai, India. Living and working with immigrant families, she has seen the need for reform firsthand. Since 2021 she has practiced immigration law as a solo practitioner around her children’s schedule.

Anne has traveled all across the state of Kansas and beyond for her work as an immigration attorney and has extensive experience navigating the federal legal system, working directly with USCIS.

Anne is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She renews her oath to the United States Constitution every year when she renews her law license, and her legal background gives her an edge in understanding, interpreting, and drafting legislation that works for the people, not corporations.
