It’s official! On Friday we formally filed with the Kansas Secretary of State’s office and my name is on the ballot for the 2026 election. After a long journey leading up to this, it was one of the happiest moments of my campaign. But as I sit here today reflecting on the last year, after all the excitement and fun we had when we went to register, my feelings turn more melancholy.

On March 1, 2025, I, along with two of my friends, left home at around 3 a.m. to meet our Senator at his Oakley townhall. So many concerned citizens of Kansas took the time out of their lives to be there that day. And when he realized we were there to take him to task for legislation he has supported, he proved to us he had little respect for the People he works for, and he is unfit to hold that seat. So I told him I would take his job.

You probably already know the empty suits in Washington have shut down the government again. You've probably heard talking heads on television and YouTube talking all about polling numbers and “how this will play with voters,” as if power play politics is all that matters here. 

Here is what you may not know: If Republicans in Washington get their way, your family’s health care premiums will skyrocket next year.

We talk about Musk and Doge and how his methods have exposed us to attacks from our enemies. We talk about separation of powers and due process. Does due process apply to undocumented immigrants?

I talk about the SAVE Act, the history of voting (and oppression of the same) in the United States, and I give ideas about how we can more fairly enact this legislation if the powers that be insist upon doing so.
